Be a Mentor!

The Youth Leadership Council is seeking friendly, enthusiastic, and energetic college students and young professionals who have a desire to make a positive impact on their community as well as the next generation by facilitating workshops, team building activities, and discussions for high school students.

Mentor Roles

Each mentor group will consist of three mentors. These mentors will work as a team to guide a group of approximately ten high school students through the weekend Conference.

• Impart your knowledge, experience, and wisdom on high school students
• Lead and facilitate workshops, team building activities, and discussions
• Challenge, inspire, and motivate students to reach his or her potential

Requirements

• Mentor applicants must have completed at least two years of college by June 2008 or currently work as a full-time salaried professional
• Mentors must be able to attend the following events:
• “Meet & Greet”: Schedule with Mike Kao at mentor@ylc.net - must take place by May 25, 2008
• Mentor Retreat: June 7 - 8, 2008
• Youth Leadership Conference: June 27 - 29, 2008 (Mentors must be available from noon on Friday through 2PM on Sunday)
• Lead and facilitate workshops, team building activities, and discussions
• Prospective mentors must complete and submit an application by Wednesday, May 14, 2008. Email completed application to mentor@ylc.net.
