Executive Board



 President - Charles Vora
Charles graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Aerospace Engineering and currently works as an engineer designing oil field structures and equipment for Veristic Technologies. He attended the Youth Leadership Conference as a high school student; mentored from 2001 to 2003; and served as Mentor Director from 2004-2006. Charles likes to rock climb and play volleyball in his free time.


Secretary - Gordon Chang
Born and raised in Houston, Tx. Graduated from Bellaire High School in 2000. Graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 2004 with a degree in psychology. I am 24 years of age. I currently work at Asia Chemical Corp., Inc. where I handle inventory control.


Treasurer - Roger Ly
Roger Ly is a recent graduate of The University of Texas at Austin. This bold Dallas native, first experienced YLC as a mentor the summer of 2005. Relating his life experiences tp mentees and mentors is what brings Roger back year after year. He currently resides and works in Austin, TX for Whole Foods Company.


Program Director- Thomas Cho
Thomas graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering with an emphasis in Construction Management, Materials, and Transportation Design. He currently works in Austin designing tollways. Thomas loves art, music, the outdoors, and racing. He believes his worst day racing beats his best day at work. Thomas participated in YLC as a student, mentor, and now serves as the Program Director.


Mentor Director - Mike Kao
Mike graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with dual degrees in Business Honors and Finance, with a minor in Spanish. Currently, Mike works as an investment banking analyst at J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. Mike has served as both a mentor and a board member for YLC and currently serves as YLC's Mentor Director. Mike enjoys playing basketball, traveling, and hanging out with friends in his free time.


VP Fundraising - Jason Yang
Jason is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Economics. He is the Credit Manger for Asia Chemical Corp. and will be pursuing his MBA from Rice University as a member of the Class of 2009. Jason attended YLC in 1994 as student and has mentored and acted as a board member for the past two years. As the current VP of Fundraising, he aims to reach additional sponsorship by exposing outside individuals and organizations to YLC’s virtues.



VP Operations - Catherine Fong
Catherine currently a student in the Accounting BBA/MBA program at The University of St. Thomas. Catherine was a YLC mentor in 2004 and mentor liaison in 2006. Catherine likes to knit, play with her dog Barry White, and bake. Fong also volunteers for VITA an organization that prepares tax returns for the underprivileged.


VP Operations - Tony Pitakpaivan
Tony graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BA in Geography focusing on GIS and urban studies. Currently, he works as an operations manager for Veristic Technologies, a engineering firm specializing in oil field equipment and structures. He has participated previously in YLC as a mentor, liason, and on the general board. Tony enjoys gymnastics, computers and technology.


VP Publicity - Quynh Nguyen
Quynh aka Qutip graduated from the infamous University of Texas with a degree in Microbiology/Clinical Lab Sciences. Quynh works for Boat People SOS as a Health Educator. Quynh is currently the VP Publicity and plans to build networks for YLC.
VP Technology - Theo Vora
Theo is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor's in Computer Science and works as a freelance IT consultant. He was involved in YLC as a student, a mentor, and now as the VP of Technology. He's a down-to-earth Mac user and enjoys practicing wushu.
